In Moldova, the active period of the sale of seed material for sowing early vegetables has ended. Managers of enterprises importing inputs for agricultural production note that farmers purchased onion seeds by about 30% more than last year. According to expert estimates, no more than 2-2.5 thousand hectares were occupied with onions in the country in 2022. Onion sowing will begin in March, as soon as weather conditions permit, and will end in the same month. It is unlikely that the situation with the projected area of crops will change significantly in the short time left before the sowing campaign.
