The strawberry season in Greece has started very well this year, says Christian Vogelsang, trader at ExPa-Frucht Ltd (Germany). According to him, since the beginning of the season, the company has consistently received a sufficient volume of berries and demand throughout the entire period has been quite satisfactory. The latter is mainly due to the relatively mild winter, EastFruit reports with reference to FreshPlaza. At the same time, prices up to the 10th week were significantly higher than last year’s level. Christian explains the higher prices by the fact that the demand for garden strawberries was also higher compared to last year, with almost the same supply volumes. However, starting from weeks 11-12, prices stabilized back to the previous year's levels.
