Brazil: In São Paulo, a fragile market imposed a new low on live chicken, the fourth in a week

The chicken that is being processed today (12th) at slaughterhouses in the interior of São Paulo was sold last Saturday for R$5.10/kg, ten cents less than two days earlier. That is: new low, the fourth of the week in the same value, was recorded on Friday (9). Now, compared to the current value a week earlier (December 3), live chicken from São Paulo has dropped by 7.27%, the same index applicable to the quotation on November 10, since the product's reference price had not changed since the end of September. More worrisome, however, is the fact that, at the current price, the live chicken recorded an appreciation of only 2% compared to the prevailing value a year ago and on the last business day of 2021.
