(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Ji-hye = The distribution of Jeju citrus fruits outside of designated products was detected in wholesale markets outside Jeju Island.
Jeju Province announced on the 18th that a total of 3,100 kg (10 cases) were detected as a result of the second joint special inspection conducted in the agricultural wholesale markets of Seoul Gangseo, Incheon Namchon, and Busan Eomgung from the 13th to the 14th of last month.
The detected cases mostly involved citrus fruits that did not meet product specifications, such as small fruits with a diameter of less than 45 mm and large fruits exceeding a diameter of 77 mm.
In the first joint inspection conducted in the wholesale markets of Seoul Garak, Gyeonggi Guri, and Daegu North from the 14th to the 15th of last month, a total of 2,130 kg (15 cases) of citrus fruits outside of designated products were detected.
