Fernando Coronel is a cattle producer in the island area of the Paraná River Delta. His breeding ranch is in Aguas Negras, on the border between San Nicolas and Ramallo. The area has been suffering, like many others, from repeated cases of cattle rustling that not only imply economic loss but sometimes also put the lives of the inhabitants at risk. “We are cattle ranchers. My grandfather, my father, us. There has always been vigilance, we are always in an area where many boats and canoes circulate, and they always took one, two, three animals from us. But in recent years the situation has intensified and in the last incident they rustled 35 cows from us,” Fernando denounced. The lack of security is alarming.
