In the North Kazakhstan region, the grain harvest is coming to an end. As of October 16, grain and leguminous crops have been harvested from an area of 2.972 million hectares—this is 98.2% of the total sown area. The total grain yield amounted to 6.17 million tons, with an average yield of 20.8 centners per hectare. "This is one of the best indicators in recent years. This was facilitated by the improvement of agricultural technologies, the modernization of equipment, and the application of new approaches in crop production," reported the Ministry of Agriculture. Also, as of today, in the North Kazakhstan region, oilseed crops have been harvested from an area of 684 thousand hectares, totaling 791.3 thousand tons with an average yield of 11.6 centners per hectare. The harvest campaign is expected to result in a record yield of oilseed crops—up to 1 million tons, which will be the highest figure in the region's history.
