In the spring of 2022, the area under walnuts in Uzbekistan increased by 1.1 thousand hectares

Walnut is grown in almost all regions of Uzbekistan. As of now, there are 337.3 thousand hectares of orchards in the republic, of which 18.7 thousand hectares are walnut plantations. Walnut growers plan to collect about 65.1 thousand tons of nuts from these orchards. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, walnut varieties such as Bostanlik, Thin-shell, Yubileiny, Shackle H-86, Chandler, Peschansky, Cogalniceanh, Codrene are grown in the country. To increase the production and export of walnuts in Uzbekistan, 10.1 thousand hectares of walnut plantations were laid in 2021, and 1.1 thousand hectares in the spring of 2022. Increasingly, in Uzbekistan, walnuts are grown in intensive orchards, which makes it possible to obtain higher yields of high-quality walnuts.
