Since 2024, the wholesale prices of various fish species including Pollock, flounder, haddock, cod, Atlantic mackerel, and capelin have decreased in the Far East, North-West, and Central District of Russia due to active sales of last year's catches. The Russian capelin quota for 2024 has also been increased threefold to 78.2 thousand tons. Pacific salmon products, particularly pink salmon and chum salmon, have also seen significant price drops compared to January 2023. However, these reductions have not yet been reflected in retail prices, which have increased by 0.85% nationwide since the start of the year.
