In Ukraine, 5.3 million hectares of winter crops: how the sowing campaign went

They sowed winter crops, always catching the optimal window for the plants to get the best start and survive the winter. It’s not the scale that matters, but the precision – the right seeds, depth and seeding rate, and technology. According to the latest reports, over 98% of the areas have already been sown. The Executive Director of the Seed Association of Ukraine, Syuzana Grigorenko, is analyzing the progress of the campaign and how the beginning of the sowing season will affect wintering and the harvest. As of the end of November 2025, the sowing campaign for winter crops is almost at the finish line: 5,308 million hectares have been sown in Ukraine, which is 97.8% of the planned areas.
