In southern and eastern Ukraine, the weather remains extremely dry, which reduces the potential yield of sunflower and corn crops, and also prevents the sowing of winter rapeseed, writes graintrade. As of September 1, 2025, in Ukraine, 377 thousand hectares have been sown with winter rapeseed, which is 33.8% of the planned 1.114 million hectares, with the largest areas sown in Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions – 85 thousand and 78 thousand hectares, respectively. Recall that as of September 2, 2024, 446.2 thousand hectares had been sown with winter rapeseed in Ukraine, which was 37.8% of the planned 1.18 million hectares, but the season's total area reached 1.3 million hectares, although some crops were lost in winter and spring.
