Agrometeorological conditions in mid-October were generally satisfactory for the vegetation of sown winter crops on most areas. This is reported by "APK-Inform." Significant rainfall recorded in the previous period replenished the reserves of productive moisture in almost all soil layers. This contributed to the emergence of uniform winter crops on many areas. In significant areas of Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, some parts of Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and in the southern regions (except for Odesa, where heavy rains were observed in the previous period), severe drought persisted. The drought was not only related to the amount of precipitation but also to the uneven distribution of rainfall within one region, where several districts experienced waterlogging while others faced prolonged drought.
