There has been a surge of interest in lamb and sheep meat in Ukraine, leading to a growth in the industrial sheep population by 1.3% over the past year. This trend is attributed to a change in eating habits, the revival of tourism, particularly from the Middle East, and increasing exports of live cattle. The head of the 'Association of Shepherds' in Ukraine, Vasyl Stefurak, highlights the development of the industry, with shepherds investing in more productive breeds and promoting cheese-making and green tourism. The growth in the sheep industry is also supported by the establishment of a 'high-quality lamb road' in the country.
