The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has revised the Rules of amateur fishing, effective from January 30, 2024. The amendments include a ban on fishing during the spawning period and the removal of the minimum size requirement for silver crucian carp in the Black Sea and Azov regions. These changes align with the Law of Ukraine No. 2989-IX, enacted on March 21, 2023, aiming to enhance state regulation in fisheries, conservation, and the rational use of aquatic resources. The fishing industry anticipates further legislative changes concerning the electronic fisheries management system.
