Tridge summary

The gross sunflower harvest in Ukraine in 2025 could be around 10.5 million tons, according to Spike Brokers. Such a harvest will not cover the needs of the processing industry, which is already operating with surplus capacities. Prices for sunflower oil continue to rise due to a raw material shortage and limited supply in the market.

According to Spike Brokers, the gross sunflower harvest could be around 10.5 million tons. This figure may not cover the capacities of the surplus processing industry. This is reported by Latifundist.com. As of October 16, sunflower has been harvested from an area of 3.9 million hectares in Ukraine, with a gross harvest of 7.1 million tons, corresponding to an average yield of 1.84 tons per hectare. The total expected harvest area is 5.1 million hectares, meaning about 1.2 million hectares remain to complete the harvest campaign. "Assuming that the yield on the remaining areas by regions will be 10% higher than the current level, the expected final gross sunflower harvest could reach approximately 10.5 million tons. This level of sunflower harvest will cause a significant raw material deficit for Ukraine's already surplus processing industry," the brokers noted.
