Apples in Ukraine will no longer be cheap. Producers are expanding fruit exports abroad, and accordingly, higher export prices are changing the cost of the fruit on the domestic market. This was told to the publication SEEDS by Taras Bashtannyk, president of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association. "If the export price is, say, 40 hryvnias per kilogram, then prices on the domestic market cannot be 20. Otherwise, what is the point of such a business?" Bashtannyk explains the logic of the growers. He predicts that a kilogram of apples this year will cost 30-35 hryvnias, a maximum of 40 hryvnias. "That is, not 70, and not 100 hryvnias per kilogram, as it was not so long ago. But apples will never be 5 hryvnias per kilogram again," warns the head of the Association.
