(Ulsan=Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Ji-hyun = Ulsan City announced on the 10th that it will provide a farmer's allowance of 600,000 won per farm household from the 12th to the 22nd. The recipients are 11,400 or so farm households in the Ulsan region. This is an increase of about 3% compared to last year (11,103 households). The total project cost is 6.8 billion won. Since March, the city has been accepting applications for the allowance through the administrative welfare centers of the towns, townships, and districts where the farmland is located, reviewing the qualifications, and selecting the recipient farms. Farm households receiving the allowance are required to fulfill duties such as ecosystem conservation, voluntary disposal of farming waste, adherence to appropriate use standards for chemical fertilizers and pesticides, maintenance of farmland, and compliance with livestock quarantine standards. A city official said, "We will continue to strive to enhance the public value of agriculture and rural communities through farming and rural community activities."
