The Malaysian government is set to increase its rice subsidies and incentives for agricultural production from RM2.46 billion this year to RM2.6 billion next year, a 4.1% increase in the Ministry's budget allocation for 2025. This announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, who also mentioned the distribution of fertiliser and pesticide assistance to 15,000 farmers in Sabah, totaling RM13 million. So far in 2021, RM54.4 million has been disbursed to farmers in Sabah.
