Turkey: Increasing agriculture and livestock production in Hakkari

In Hakkari, where agriculture and animal husbandry constitute the most important source of livelihood, production was resumed in the fields left fallow, which had been empty or idle in 2 years, in order to increase production. Within the scope of the Enabling the Use of Agricultural Lands (TAKE) Project carried out by the General Directorate of Crop Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 3 thousand decares of land that could not be utilized in 2 years in Hakkari was brought into the economy. In order to carry out production on these lands, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry provided seeds and seedlings, of which 75 percent was a grant, to the farmers.
