The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia is implementing a Horticultural Village Development program to enhance the competitiveness of horticultural products and increase food production. This initiative will develop villages for the cultivation of vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants, and floriculture, with a focus on longan villages due to the increase in production and high domestic demand. These villages will use the One Village One Variety concept and will have the potential to generate significant added value and agro-tourism opportunities.
