India has seen a notable increase in the export of rapeseed meal due to a record high harvest of rapeseed in the 2021/22 marketing year, while soybean exports have decreased. The country is projected to reach a record 1.3 million tons of rapeseed meal exports for the 2021/22 season, with the main shipments going to South Korea, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. Conversely, soybean meal exports have dropped significantly, especially to the EU, due to reduced competitiveness of Indian soybean meal on the global market. Furthermore, the decrease in soybean processing in India is attributed to the inactivity of oilseed sales by farmers, potentially leading to a surge in soybean stocks by the end of the season.
