KPMG Australia has embarked on a research project, funded by a Federal Government ATMAC grant to Hort Innovation, aimed at mapping the supply chain of horticultural products exported to India. This initiative responds to the significant growth in Australia's horticultural exports to India, which surged from nearly 15,000 tonnes in 2022 to over 30,000 tonnes the following year. The research focuses on enhancing trade and maintaining quality in high-value markets, particularly for products like tree nuts, fruits, and vegetables, for which Australia already has market access. The study seeks to provide valuable insights to strengthen partnerships and leverage trade opportunities amidst India's increasing appetite for premium agrifood products.
