Indonesia and Toyota are launching a program to convert palm oil waste into bioethanol.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has unveiled a technology initiative to convert empty palm oil fruit bunches into bioethanol. This project, based on advanced glucose extraction technology, transforms agricultural waste into a valuable renewable energy source, opening a new chapter in the country’s green industry development, according to Indonesian publication TanahAir. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, Indonesia’s leading research center for standardization and agro-industrial services (BBSPJIA), and the Bandung Institute of Technology are industrial partners in the recycling program.
