Indonesia expands number of Brazilian slaughterhouses authorized to export beef

Indonesia has officially authorized 17 Brazilian slaughterhouses to export beef to the country. This measure is the result of bilateral negotiations and on-site inspections carried out last month by Indonesian health authorities in Brazil, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture. With this decision, 38 Brazilian establishments are authorized to serve the local market, representing an 80% increase in the number of authorized slaughterhouses. The announcement follows another important advancement in beef exports to the Asian destination: the opening in August, when Indonesian authorities allowed the import of beef with bone, offal, meat products, and meat preparations from Brazil.
