Almond cultivation is expanding in Ukraine, reaching areas beyond the southern Bessarabia region to include Zakarpattia, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. A new industrial almond orchard spanning 105 hectares in the Kyiv region, assisted by Italian specialists, is expected to start producing in the next year. The Ukrainian Nut Association has launched a program to further develop almond cultivation in the southern regions, drawing on experience from Moldova and Crimea. Experimental plantings of new almond varieties in northern Kharkiv and central Dnipropetrovsk oblasts are being acclimatized to Ukrainian conditions. The first nursery for industrial almond seedling growth in Ukraine has also been established.
