Ukrainian industrial fishermen caught 10.6 tons of aquatic bioresources in the Black and Azov Seas from January to October 2021, marking a 26.4% decrease compared to the same period the previous year, according to the State Fisheries Agency. The total catch for the first 10 months of the year was 53,451 tons, with the majority coming from the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. There was also an increase in the mining of fish and other aquatic bioresources from estuaries, the Dnieper-Bug estuary system, the Danube River, and various reservoirs. Additionally, the extraction of krill by Ukrainian ships increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2020.
