The National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) of Peru has introduced a new potato variety, INIA 333 CHUGAYNA, to Peruvian producers, particularly in the Cajamarca region. This variety is renowned for its high genetic quality, high yield of 47 tons per hectare, rapid maturation within 110 to 130 days, and resistance to common pests and diseases. Adaptable to a wide range of altitudes and growing conditions, it also has a unique tuber shape and good texture, making it ideal for culinary uses. The development of this variety involved extensive research and collaboration from various agricultural organizations and institutions.
