The National Directorate of Fisheries has allowed commercial shrimp fishing operations in Subareas 13 and 14 based on a report from the National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development. Eight freezer vessels have been monitoring these areas and fishing can now be carried out in the Area of Permanent Ban on Juvenile Hake in the San Jorge Gulf. However, finding shrimp has been difficult this season and the weather conditions have also affected fishing days and production.
