The advance results from a wide range of bean types, as the carioca bean still has a limited presence in the so-called saudade market. The base of exports comes from black beans, green and black mung beans, as well as red, streaked, cowpeas, and other special beans. This movement affects the entire chain by expanding the influence of external references in price formation, previously concentrated in the domestic wholesale market. The Agronomic Institute of Campinas stands out in the process by accounting for more than 60 percent of the exported cultivars.
