Institutional advances drive renewable energies in PR

The advancement of biogas and renewable hydrogen in Paraná has been gaining momentum with the articulation of public policies aimed at energy transition and emission reduction. According to Thiago Olinda, executive director, this movement was evident in the first meeting of the year of the Governance Committee of the Works on the Integration of Incentives for the Biogas and Renewable Hydrogen Chains of Paraná, held on January 27. The meeting focused on building concrete instruments capable of accelerating the development of low carbon emission biogas, biomethane, and hydrogen projects in the state, especially on strategic fronts with high potential that are still little explored. Among the topics discussed were actions to stimulate biogas and biomethane in the sugar-energy sector and the urban solid waste segment, with emphasis on sanitary landfills.
