France: Interbev, Anvol, AIBS, and Intercéréales say no to the EU-Mercosur agreement

Supported by a large number of parliamentarians, the four sectors are warning about the structural consequences of this agreement for the entire French agri-food chain, from production to marketing, including processing. "The impacts will affect all agricultural sectors, from upstream to downstream, and its effects will be felt all the way to consumers," the group states in a press release. This is why the sectors are asking the French government to act unambiguously and firmly oppose the signing of this agreement. "It is imperative that France sends a clear signal, without compromise or concession, to definitively block any progress on this agreement that is contrary to its values of preserving food sovereignty and respecting the environment," the sectors say.
