Iran and Azerbaijan have inaugurated a new cross-border bridge over the Astarachay River, with the opening ceremony attended by officials from both countries. The €5.8 million bridge, spanning 89 meters in length and over 30 meters in width, has four lanes for vehicles and a covered pedestrian walkway on each side. The bridge facilitates the transit of goods between the two countries and provides Azerbaijan with access to the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, leading to growth in trade ties between Tehran and Baku.
