The article reports on the significant inflation experienced in Iran during the 2020-21 fiscal year, with the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising by 36.4% compared to the previous year. This inflation was not evenly distributed across the country and across different income deciles. The highest inflation was recorded in Kermanshah Province at 40.1%, while the lowest was in Markazi Province at 33.3%. The food items that experienced the most price increase were bread and grains, fruits and nuts, and dairy products, while the prices of potatoes, onions, and tomato paste decreased.
