Between March 21, 2022, and February 19, 2023, Iran ranked as the world's second-largest apple exporter, with a total of 550,000 tons exported worth $170 million. The main importers were Pakistan, Iraq, India, Russia, and Afghanistan. However, the country's apple production has decreased by 7% in the 2022-2023 season due to adverse weather conditions. Despite these challenges, Iran's apple production sector continues to face obstacles such as weather volatility, plant diseases, and a lack of investment in production technology.
