In the Iranian province of Kohgiluyeh Boyer-Ahmad, a remarkable production of 1,700 tons of honey was achieved in the past year, as highlighted by the deputy director of the province’s Agriculture Department, Reza Behnam-Pour. This production took place across 2,700 bee farms, with the industry employing 3,700 people and contributing significantly to the local economy. Iran's honey industry is part of a larger national effort, with a goal to increase production under the Seventh National Development Plan (2022-2026) to meet growing demand and strengthen Iran's global position in honey production, currently ranking third in the world in terms of apiary numbers.
