The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad in Iran has emphasized the importance of food security due to the current geopolitical situation and the urgent need for it to be considered a national security issue. The Minister, Gholamreza Nouri, highlighted the need for effective communication around food security to build public trust. He mentioned the health risks associated with high consumption of certain food items and the need to reduce the price gap between farm and table. Despite sanctions, Iran saw a 35% increase in agricultural exports last year, and the ministry is implementing policies to support small farmers and industrial production. Nouri stressed the need to improve the social status of farmers and nomads in Iran.
