Iran's saffron exports exceeded $190 million over the past year, with the majority of the exports going to five countries: Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Spain, China, and Afghanistan. These five countries accounted for 79% of Iran's total saffron exports in weight. Iran is one of the world's leading saffron producers, with over 90% of its production being exported. To support the saffron industry, the Iranian government allocated 10 trillion rials (approximately $238.09 million) to saffron producers and processors in the form of bank facilities.
