Ukraine has been a leader in agro-industrial exports for many years, contributing 45% to the country's total exports in 2020 with a revenue of $22.2 billion. The most profitable exports included cereals, oilseeds, fats and oils, food industry residues and wastes, meat and edible offal. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, exports of some products like honey, confectionery, frozen fruit, pasta, and casein increased. However, meat, dairy, eggs, and vegetable exports decreased. The European Union is a strategic trade partner, and Ukraine has duty-free quotas for exports of 40 products. The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine is working with the EU to review conditions for Ukrainian products to enter European markets. A systematic state policy, international certificates, and compliance with importing countries' requirements are necessary for Ukrainian products to enter foreign markets. The State Food and Consumer Service is working to expand sales of Ukrainian products to 31 countries.
