The occupation authorities in the Kherson region, aided by local collaborators, are stealing wheat and other crops, despite the ongoing conflict and lack of irrigation system. The occupiers are forcing local farmers to sell grain at lower prices and are exporting the stolen grain to countries such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Crimea, where it is used to purchase sanctioned goods. A total of at least 34,000 tons of grain worth 6.2 million euros has been exported from the Kherson region in 2023.
