An ecological agriculture project in Turkey, funded by the Global Environment Facility and in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Food and Agriculture Organization, has successfully harvested the new wheat variety, 'Ayten abla', from the Yeniçağa district of Bolu. This variety is expected to yield around 600 kilograms per acre and is part of an initiative to cultivate seed varieties better suited to the local soil, with the larger goal of promoting sustainable agriculture and enhancing farmers' income and productivity.
