Hungary's winter fisheries have commenced, but the industry is facing challenges due to drought, increased feed and energy prices. Exports of Hungarian fish, particularly carp, have decreased by half due to voluntary limitations and high prices, making it difficult to maintain supply and demand. The drought has also caused over 100 hectares of lake farms to dry up, reducing the harvest by 15-20%, and potentially leading to a 30% decline in fish production in the Transdanubia region by next year.
