Indonesia's Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi, has stated that the prices of several food commodities are increasing due to weather conditions and other factors. The price of chilies has risen by 15% due to the rainy season, while the price of purebred chicken eggs has increased, with the highest price in Papua at Rp 38,000/Kg. The minister has suggested that the fair price for eggs is Rp 24,000/Kg and has urged for protection for egg farmers. The price of soybeans is currently stable but may increase due to poor yields in Brazil and South America.
