a man in Bagatipara upazila of the district for producing adulterated jaggery by mixing harmful substances into food products. The enforcement action was taken at 1.00 pm today, under the supervision of Md. Nazmul Hasan, assistant director of the NCRPD's Natore District Office. A team conducted a raid in Kalikapur area of the upazila, where they discovered the adulteration process. The jaggery was being produced by adding harmful chemicals such as hydrose and lime, both of which are unsafe for human consumption. Janarul Islam, a local jaggery producer, was fined Taka 50,000 for violating food safety standards.
