The Korea Consumer Agency reports that the cost of eating out in Seoul is significantly higher than other cities in the country. The average price of a bowl of Jajangmyeon is 7,308 won, the highest among 16 cities and provinces surveyed, and pork belly costs an average of 20,082 won per serving. Jeju Island has the most expensive kimchi stew at 9,625 won per serving. Seoul also has the most expensive cold noodles at 11,923 won per serving. The restaurant price inflation rate in June was 3%, higher than the consumer price inflation rate of 2.4%. The Vice Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has called for increased communication with the industry to identify difficulties and provide support to stabilize restaurant prices.
