Japan and Russia have agreed on the terms for Japanese fishermen to catch salmon and trout in Japan's 200-mile exclusive economic zone in 2024. The quota remains the same as the previous year at 2,050 tons of seafood. Japan's payment to Russia will be between 180 million to 313 million yen ($1.2 million to $2.1 million). This agreement is based on a 1984 pact allowing both countries to fish within each other's 200-mile exclusive economic zones.
