The Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Japan has announced that the Japanese government has increased the inspection of durian products imported from Vietnam to 100% due to concerns about pesticide residues. This is a change from the previous 30% inspection rate. The Vietnam Trade Office in Japan is supporting exporters to meet the safety standards and relax the inspection regulations. However, the office has also warned that there are issues with the export of other types of fruit that have not been accepted by Japan, or have been misrepresented, which could lead to a ban on these fruits.
