Japan has seen a decrease in its cashew imports in the first five months of 2021, with a 11.2% drop compared to the same period in 2020, totaling 33.17 million USD. This decline is largely due to a 22.8% reduction in imports from India, amounting to 19.14 million USD. Conversely, Japan's imports of cashews from Vietnam have risen by 4.5%, reaching 12.92 million USD. Vietnam's share of Japan's total cashew nut import value has increased to 38.97% in 2021, up from 33.09% in 2020, indicating a growing preference for Vietnamese cashews in the Japanese market.
