TOKYO -- Japanese developer Mitsubishi Estate and builder Shimizu will build one of the largest food logistics facilities in Singapore, the two companies announced earlier this month.
They will jointly develop it with CapitaLand Development, a major local real estate developer, through their local subsidiaries. Completion is scheduled for 2029.
This will be Mitsubishi Estate's first logistics facility project in Singapore. It will serve as a food supply hub in a country with high demand for dining out and takeout.
Use of the facility, called "Gourmet Xchange", will be aimed at food-related companies. The nine-story building, located in the Kallang area near central Singapore, will have 272 units covering about 44,000 square meters. The total floor area will be approximately 114,000 sq. meters.
The facility will enable complete food manufacturing, storage, and distribution operations. It will also include restaurants and event spaces, making it a hub for community interaction.
