Updated Mar 14, 2023
According to rambutan farmers in the islet communes of Long Ho district (Vinh Long province), rambutan fruit prices have continuously increased in recent days. Particularly, Java rambutan doubled the price, gardeners were very excited. This year, farmers in the islet communes of Long Ho district (Vinh Long province) processed rambutan trees, including Java rambutan, so the selling time lasted from the bad season to the good season. In Binh Hoa Phuoc commune, Java rambutan varieties are purchased by traders in the garden for 48,000-50,000 VND/kg, 2 times higher than the same period last year. The price of rambutan is at a high level, but this is the end of the bad season, so rambutan output is not much. Particularly, Thai rambutan costs 60,000-63,000 VND/kg. Long Ho district, is the locality with the largest rambutan growing area in Vinh Long province with 2,056ha. In the past week, gardeners planted fruit trees and harvested about 60 tons of rambutan. It is expected that next week rambutan harvest will continue to decrease because rambutan for off-season is no longer available.
