The Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Production Cooperative is establishing a new shared tobacco drying facility. The cooperative is taking this step to prevent quality degradation caused by the concentration of tobacco volume during the harvest and drying period, and to alleviate the burden of operating costs. They are also installing drying equipment. The total project cost is 1 billion won, with 50% funded by the city and 50% self-funded by the Leaf Tobacco Cooperative. The Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Cooperative, consisting of 102 members from Jecheon and Danyang, has been facing difficulties due to outdated household drying equipment and increased cultivation areas. The lack of facilities has made timely drying difficult, leading to repeated losses for farmers. Therefore, the introduction of a shared drying facility and drying equipment is necessary.
