The Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Production Cooperative is constructing a new shared tobacco drying facility. The cooperative is taking this step to prevent quality degradation caused by the concentration of tobacco volume during the harvest and drying period, and to alleviate the burden of operating costs. They are also building drying equipment facilities. The total project cost is 1 billion won, with 50% funded by the city and 50% self-funded by the Leaf Tobacco Cooperative. The Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Cooperative, consisting of 102 members from the Jecheon and Danyang regions, has been facing difficulties due to outdated household drying equipment and increased cultivation area.
