(Seogwipo=Yonhap News) Reporter Park Ji-ho = Seogwipo City announced on the 28th that applications for the 2026 FTA fund high-quality orchard facility modernization project will be accepted until December 3.
This project aims to establish a high-quality kiwi production base and secure competitiveness in quality against imported fruits. It can be applied through regional agricultural cooperatives participating in the comprehensive development plan for the horticultural industry.
Applications can be submitted at Jeju City Agricultural Cooperative (including Halla Gold Farming Corporation), Jocheon Agricultural Cooperative, Hangyeong Agricultural Cooperative, Aewol Agricultural Cooperative, Andeok Agricultural Cooperative, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Agricultural Cooperative.
The target projects for application include 12 projects for high-sugar content and high-quality kiwi production, such as rain shelters and emergency generators, including rain shelters (including rainwater utilization facilities), emergency generators, automatic opening and closing devices, irrigation and water supply facilities, agricultural product transportation facilities, unmanned pest control facilities, ventilation facilities, blower facilities, agricultural heating equipment for disaster prevention, thermal insulation curtains (for protection against frost and cold damage), renovation of old houses, and shading nets for disaster prevention and sun protection.
From next year, additional support will be provided for shading net facilities for disaster prevention (85% shading rate), rainwater utilization facility capacity (300 tons), and one-time materials for renovation of old houses (vinyl and nets).
